Partnering with Warmth from the Millyard
The Warmth from the Millyard Project is a collaborative initiative coordinated by
the UNH and UNH Manchester Leadership program.
The mission of Warmth from the Millyard project is to mobilize NH communities in clothing
drives and other projects to demonstrate our collective power to address the needs of our
neighbors through a collaborate partnership with the Lions. The articles are to be donated to
local organizations of your choice and to agencies throughout NH.
1. Appoint a chairman in your club.
2. Collect new items: Kids and adult hats, scarves, mittens, and socks. (The items do not have to
be hand made. ) This year we will accept new or used outerwear such as jackets, fleece tops
and ski pants that are clean and in good condition. We will accept blankets.
3. Contact the local school nurse, guidance counselor, soup kitchen, shelter or charitable organizations
in your community to see what is needed and where the items should go. You choose
where they should go based on the needs of that organization.
4. Ask your friends who knit or contact a local nursing home and ask people to knit. Ask your
local discount stores for these items or purchase them on sale.
5. Ask if you can put a collection box at your local school, bank or other public place. Put your
Lion’s Club Information where everyone can see who is doing the collecting.
6. Keep a tally of what your club has collected and send your report to one of the following;
